Rotational Grazing Economics Two-Part Webinar Series

In the first part of this two-part series of Louisiana GLCI’s Economics of Grazing webinars, we join together James McCann, Louisiana NRCS State Economist, and Tara Morris, cattle producer, grazier, and LGLCI’s Education and Outreach Coordinator.

The two discuss the previous studies and background data that James prospected to create the economics of grazing case study discussed in Part Two.

James and Tara lay out and discuss practical numbers, costs, and additional value associated with rotational grazing.

They break down the costs of different types of fencing and rotational grazing labor and discuss the added value of focused manure distribution and improved forage productivity.

This webinar is part one of two, and it lays the framework for the part two webinar which digs into a Louisiana-based partial budget.

If you’ve been wondering if adding more intense rotational grazing to your current pastures is worth it, these two webinars show the numbers to help you make an educated decision.
