Grass Fed Livestock Seminar
On Friday, March 16th, 2018 Richland Hill Plantation, the Southern Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE), the LSU AgCenter, and the USDA are hosting a "Alternative Forages and Soil Health for Grass Fed Livestock" seminar. The focus of the workshop includes alternative forages and soil health, silvo pasture, high density grazing, record keeping, grass fed marketing in Louisiana, and more.
Dr. Guillermo Scagilia with the LSU AgCenter will be giving a presentation along with Wedge and Sammy Barthe, owners of Richland Hill Plantation in Norwood, LA.
The producer panel includes Cooper and Katie Hurst from Mississippi, Jack and Galen Iverstine from Iverstine Family Farms in Baton Rouge, and Russell and Amilia Kent, 2018 American Farm Bureau Young Farmers and Ranchers Achievement Award Winners.
